Sprint and Samsung Drop Jelly Bean Source for GS3

After living through Froyo-gate on the Original Epic and leak-mania for Ice Cream Sandwich on the Epic Touch, I’m excited to announce that Sprint and Samsung have posted source code for Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S3.  Only four months after release, developers can start tweaking the heavily awaited operating system.  This comes only about 72 hours after sextape leaked the beta build number L710VPBLJ7.

Look to see updated overclocking kernels by morfic and Agat63 as well as updates to CM10 and AOKP kernels.  This will also be advantageous to those developers who like to build strictly off of source.  In a way, this has to ire HTC fans as they seem to have to pull teeth to get source released on flagship devices. Though Samsung has a terrible reputation for upgrading devices (one that is being actively worked on by the company,) they have been consistent about releasing source code within a day of rolling out updates. Look for development boards to light up over then next few days, but be patient.  Builds can take time to test and perfect.  For those on Verizon, this at least means you may get the update by next summer.  Enjoy the sweet taste of candy!
